1. Day tours from Largs will allow you to see the River Clyde, Burns Country and Culzean Castle. Don`t forget to bring your camera on these photographic extravaganzas along the River Clyde and down the Ayrshire coast.

Driving north from Largs on the A78 along the Firth of Clyde you will pass Inverkip marina. Travelling on to Greenock, is the birthplace of its most famous son and engineer, James Watt. Famous for its shipbuilders, Scotts, Browns, Lithgows and Ferguson amongst others, stunning architecture can be observed, Custom House, the Victoria Tower and numerous west end villas, the original homes of the wealthy traders of the time.  You can stop for a photo shoot and take in the stunning view from the Greenock Free French Memorial.

Travelling back via Gourock, visitor attractions include the outdoor swimming pool, Cloch lighthouse, Cardwell Garden centre and restaurant or alternatively have a picnic lunch at Lunderston bay whilst enjoying fabulous views. Driving back to Largs via Wemyss Bay, stop off and visit the Victorian railway station and ferry terminal.



2. From Largs head south on the A78 to Alloway, the birthplace of Scotland`s National Bard, Robert Burns. Here you have the opportunity to visit Burns Cottage and take lunch at the Burns Heritage Centre. With Ayr nearby, either a visit to the vast shopping area, or perhaps enjoy a day at the races at Ayr racecourse.  Travelling a little further south along the Electric Brae you experience the world famous optical illusion. Finally a visit to Culzean Castle and Country Park, the seat of the Clan Kennedy.



3. For the golf enthusiasts, why not visit the famous links courses at Royal Troon and Turnberry which have staged the Open Golf Championships.
